– FREE coaching: On select dates Kim Geist Coaching will offer free coaching to juniors ages 9-18 during the Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s Masters & Rookies racing. That is, Coach Kim will be on the infield to assist with warm up, explaining the races, offering strategies and feedback, and assisting overall with the process.

– Sign up: To take part, you simply need to reserve a spot here on the “Events” page. Events will be added as we go throughout the season.

How to be eligible to take part in the racing:

– Register: Masters & Rookies information can be found here: https://thevelodrome.com/pages/saturday-racing You must register via the link to BikeReg each day ($15) or on site the day of ($20). Based upon participation, the VPCC will split the junior men and women fields into “A”, “B” ability-based races each day.

– USA Cycling license: Riders need to have a USA Cycling (USAC) license, either by purchasing a one-day license ($15) using the instructions found here: https://usacycling.org/memberships-old/one-day-licenses, or by purchasing a junior racing license that is valid for one year ($40) here: https://memberships.usacycling.org/products/junior

– Bikes: If needed, riders may rent a VPCC track bike for a small fee (please inquire at on-site registration). Bike rental is free for Bicycle Racing League (BRL) participants. If you have your own bike, gear restrictions may be enforced.

– Financial assistance: Any rider who may not be able to cover the cost of the race registration, USAC license, and/or track bike rental fees, please use the contact page. There is a local club interested in potentially assisting.
